happy (?) new year!

It’s been a minute— I missed this space! I hope everyone got to spend time with loved ones and is looking forward to having a happier year.

My favorite thing to say in January is “New Year, Even Better Me” because I prefer to improve the person that I already am instead of aiming to change myself (“New Year, New Me” barf). Below, I’m sharing six of my goals this year and what I plan to do to achieve them. Maybe it will help you too?:

  1. Read More: I’ve always loved reading but books have been replaced with my cell and I want to change that. Instead of doomscrolling at night, I’m aiming to read a chapter a day.

  2. Host Friends at Home: I love being social but sometimes get wrapped up in the logistics of it all. Inviting friends and family over cuts through that pressure. I’m picking a day a month and figuring out the rest later!

  3. Re-Start My Yoga Routine: I was doing Yoga by Adriene every day during the pandemic. The world opened up and I stopped. Whether it’s daily or weekly, I’ll be pressing play and taking deep breaths again.

  4. Eat More Meals In The Dining Room: Our coffee table gets more action than the dining room table. To be fair, it’s closer to the fireplace! After cooking, I’ll set my plate down on the right table and my husband will be sure to follow.

  5. Start a Baking Recipe Book: Baking’s my thing. Organizing my recipes is not. My goal is to write things down while the goodies are still in the oven.

  6. Take Ollie (my pup) On More Adventures: If he’s happy, I’m happy! When planning longer travel, weekend getaways or daily fun, I’ll be researching dog-friendly places to take him with us. Just look at how happy he was when we visited Solvang:
